Supporting vulnerable Victorians in need

Supporting vulnerable Victorians in need

As we continue to navigate these unprecedented times, we understand just how lucky we are to be working in an industry that is considered an essential service.

We also understand that not everyone in our community is lucky enough to still be employed, with many Victorians facing significant hardship as a result of COVID-19.

When reports of hardship first began to emerge, we reached out to a number of charities in our network to offer in-kind support through volunteering and transport. We also launched a raffle to raise funds for Foodbank.

Foodbank is Australia’s largest food relief organisation, providing 77 million meals a year to more than 2,600 charities which support vulnerable Australians. Summer bushfires and COVID-19 have resulted in the demand for food relief growing at an alarming and unprecedented rate.

In Victoria, Foodbank are a crucial part of the emergency relief effort, providing care packages to the elderly and other vulnerable Victorians.

Foodbank usually rely on public donations of food to do their work, but this is not possible at the moment due to COVID-19.

Foodbank are calling for financial donations to help them purchase essential food and other items for those in need in our community.

We were proud to donate over $4,100 dollars in May to support the crucial work of Foodbank. The money raised by Transdev Melbourne is enough to provide around 8000 meals to people in need.
