This Christmas we are supporting Very Special Kids’ Christmas Fundraising Appeal which raises money to help children with life threatening illnesses.
Transdev is supporting the fundraising campaign through digital billboards as part of our Community Partnership Program.
The theme of the Christmas appeal highlights the important role Very Special Kids plays in providing specialist care and support services for families who have a child with a life threatening illness and calls on Victorians to donate to support their work.
Ian Craig, Acting Managing Director, Transdev Melbourne said, “We strongly believe in giving back to the communities in which we operate and part of what makes Christmas special for many of us is spending time with our families.
“We hope that our support will raise awareness and funds which will allow Very Special Kids to continue providing much needed hope and comfort for Victorian families who have a child with a life threatening condition.”
One of the faces of this Very Special Kids’ Christmas campaign is 18 month old Eve, whose condition is so rare it doesn’t have a precise name—there’s no cure or treatment plan.
Eve has been in and out of hospital all her life and requires oxygen 24/7. Caring for Eve has been extremely demanding, physically and emotionally for her parents Georgie and Shaun.
Funds raised will help support families with counselling services, music, art and physiotherapy sessions for children and respite and end-of-life care.
