SOD Turn Ceremony At Sunshine West Depot

On Monday 1 February, Transdev Melbourne held a sod-turning ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on the new Sunshine West depot.

The ceremony was carried out by John Tanner, Brimbank City Council Administrator, and Warwick Horsley, PTV's Head of Operations & Performance, as well as Acting CEO Peter Lodge and Transdev Melbourne's Managing Director Harry Wijers. The event was also attended by a number of other Transdev staff, PTV officials and Dzine employees - the company behind the construction of the depot.

The launch of the new depot is part of the Victorian Government's $40 million 'new depots' project and will replace the ageing Footscray depot.

The Sunshine West depot will boast the best available facilities to support the efficient operation of business, including an automated bus wash; modern, safe refuelling facilities; and improved driver amenities with recreational areas and ample staff parking.
